CERESIT CT 84 polyurethane adhesive is used for fastening polystyrene boards when insulating external walls of buildings with the light-wet method, for fastening polystyrene boards when insulating newly erected buildings and those undergoing thermal renovation, for gluing external window sills, for filling gaps between polystyrene boards and for supplementing glue in the case of board keyboarding in existing insulation. It is an element of the CERESIT CERETHERM EXPRESS jointless system for thermal insulation of external walls of buildings. Attached Styrofoam boards can be sanded, studded and then a mesh-reinforced layer can be made using CERESIT CT 85 or CT 87 mortar.
PROPERTIES:
It is characterized by excellent performance results. The adhesive strength is 15% higher than that of traditional cement adhesives, while the yield per every 10 m2 is 100% higher compared to traditional cement adhesives. The adhesive works already at 0 degrees Celsius, even in high humidity. In addition, it is dimensionally stable and low-pressure. It significantly speeds up the execution of insulation work. Pegging is possible as early as two hours after gluing. It shortens the entire work by as much as 5 working days. What’s more, it is very light – gluing 1m2 of styrofoam weighs 100g instead of 5kg for cement adhesive. CT84 has thermal insulation properties similar to insulation materials such as Styrofoam or wool.
